Agfopex is an agriculture, Food and Packaging exhibition, Agfopex is one among the numerous exhibitions being under taken by Atlantic Exhibition Nigeria Limited. It was hatched out of thoughtful deliberations and irrevocable commitment of Atlantic Exhibition, over what it can contribute towards helping companies which charted its course into agriculture, food and packaging to achieve their specific aims and objectives and remain relevant in the competitive global market.

Agfopex brings together major local and international food processing, packaging companies, agricultural machineries, farmers, Brand Representatives as well as policy makers in the agricultural sector in Nigeria and  worldwide. It is always highly focused and boasts of well-targeted participants and visitors.

The Expo is having its 2nd edition. Atlantic Exhibition Nigeria Limited is the sole owner and organizer of this event. It has the ultimate objective of providing a good forum for existing and potential investor as well as other stakeholders in the agriculture and allied businesses across the world to explore and exploit the potentials that are abound in the industry in Nigeria.

The exhibition is designed to attract high profile exhibitors and visitors from Nigeria and abroad. It avails opportunities to participants in reaching out to more customers; interacting with policy makers; making new contacts and networks amongst others among private sectors, small and medium scale industries together to brainstorm and fashion out solutions on the contemporary issues posing treats to the industry.

So, picking from the point of view that Nigeria is vested with agricultural potentials yet untapped and food minerals to be explored, Atlantic Exhibition in her expert wisdom decides to use this exhibition to bring the whole world to the shores of Nigeria.

Created on May 27, 1967 from part of the Northern Region, Kano state borders Katsina State to the north-west, Jigawa State to the north-east, Bauchi State to the south-east and Kaduna State to the south-west. The capital of Kano State is Kano.

Agriculture: Subsistence and commercial agriculture is mostly practiced in the outlying districts of the state. Some of the food crops cultivated are millet, cowpeas, sorghum, maize and rice for local consumption while groundnuts and cotton are produced for export and industrial purposes. Kano State is a major producer of hides and skins, sesame, soybean, cotton, garlic, gum arabic and chili pepper.

Industry wise: Kano State is the second largest industrial center in Nigeria and the largest in Northern Nigeria with textile, tanning, footwear, cosmetics, plastics, enamelware, pharmaceuticals, ceramics, furniture and other industries. Others include agricultural implements, soft drinks, food and beverages, dairy products, vegetable oil, animal feeds etc.

Gidan Rumfa (Emir’s Palace, the oldest continuous site of authority in Nigeria)
